Direct Encrypted File Exchange
Use P2P Chat host/client roles, matching encryption, an out-of-band shared key, and the p2pchat_files transfer boundary.
The problem
Two trusted people need to exchange messages or files directly without routing through a third-party service.
Operator approach
Start with the documented workflow for the tool, collect evidence, and keep the next step visible before changing settings, blocking traffic, unlocking storage, or transferring sensitive files.
First steps
- Have one side choose Host and start the listener on the agreed port
- Have the other side choose Client with the same encryption type
- Share the generated key, host IP, and port through a separate trusted channel
- Place files to send inside p2pchat_files, then use /send filename.ext from the chat window
- Confirm received files land in the peer's p2pchat_files folder and clear sensitive staging files when finished
