Map A Chatty Device
Use NetView's graph, MAC hover, source grouping, packet counts, IP search, and export tools to identify the device and preserve a snapshot.
The problem
One device appears to be creating far more connections than the others.
Operator approach
Start with the documented workflow for the tool, collect evidence, and keep the next step visible before changing settings, blocking traffic, unlocking storage, or transferring sensitive files.
First steps
- Run NetView.exe as Administrator after installing Npcap
- Open the printed localhost dashboard URL
- Use the side panel to find the source group with the highest packet count
- Hover the node for IP and MAC, then export JSON/CSV/PNG
